Just remembered that I'd just passed 50,000 contacts on the radio a few days ago1988-2024 (1990-2008 not included, I returned to earwigging)
Celebrating with a fruit scone and something fizzy....

Man, icicle lights flashing away outside...

Guinness? you'll be lucky as apparently there is a shortage in the UK...
problem is finding a pub who can pour it properly...

Ladder had been moved, it's one of those which fall back into itself so fits snuggly away..
Got brownie points when Mrs M returned home...

Without knowing, is that considered a decent number these days? Given your return to earwigging(Listening in?) for 18 years.

Irish Club, The New York Road in Leeds. A bit far to go for a pint though, 22+ miles one way.
They also get their deliveries straight from St. James Gate, Dublin. One of the few places to do so.

A space saving ladder that hides itself. You must have fun when you need it.

up at 3.3c now but the sun has swung up over the yardarm, it'll soon drop again....

That's why I'm trying finish my printing,
I'm running close to the wire as it'll be touch and go if enough PLA on the reel (I'm doing 6 objects at once)

Lights will be going up tomorrow morning as clips are done..
Increasing the gap for the slats has also increased the bit where the light wire goes along, a wee reverse and on to next peg, sorted.

Young Toodles becomes 2 tomorrow..
took the rip out of her granny today..
Mrs M's phone rings, off goes the little one and picks up the phone and granny's specs then puts on the specs and opens the phone case..
we just fell about laughing...

Aye, been watching the usual guff spouted by some online commentators..
It would have been good to find the rest of him..
Kinda blows the Chinese have taken him off the mountain theory that came out.
Sadly the whole event has gone nuts once again with all sorts of theories thrown about..
The disrespect shown to GLM when found seems to be par for the course, a search for effects then a burial, okay but to return and check him over again? sad in the least.
Not all has come out....
Too many theories have been spawned, the camera?, the photo of GLM missus, the letter, I could go on..
There seems to be more debunking it than if they had done it, I'm of the thought GLM got to the top.

Like everything else, you can highlight and debunk anything if you choose your words carefully...
I give you the Tobacco debate, you get the facts and favourable opinion to suit the person who pays you..

First heard about a camera and film being found 30 years ago. The person who mentioned it was hoping there'd be pictures of them at the top in it. Quite high up in the BMC at one stage, he was off the belief that they fell victim to the mountain on the way back down.

he had apparently said he would leave something on the summit, this is where the photo story came from(it could be fact) but nothing to do with his wife was found on him...
The first man (or joint) on the summit was reputed to have searched everywhere for any trace,
but in an interview was asked about GLM and SI, he said that him and Tensing were first to summit and return again..
A strange thing to say I thought.
GLM was a once in a lifetime talent climber,
I think he made it without SI or not.
Sadly we will never know unless the put forward story of SI and the camera were true and the rest of SI is discovered, rumours of the Chinese taking SI off the mountain and trying to develop the film is well, possible that they did find SI and removed a camera from him.
BUT it would then disprove the Chinese were the first to summit from the N in 1960, which has no evidence, no photos, no summit rocks as the rock they found is too light coloured as if they are from lower down.
I smell sh*** tbh.
Until a camera or summit evidence is found, it'll remain a mystery.
SI is possibly in the glacier so he may appear anytime, I'd love the camera or summit rocks to be found...

they allegedly left a bust of Mao...
and they said they were powered on by Mao's little red book.. ahem.
Access for westerners is being opened up and low and behold, certain ones are now backtracking on their previous 'aye right' thoughts on the claim of the Chinese, obviously for access even a well know UK climber has also backtracked..
I always found him full of it, mind you I had all his books as a good story teller.

The place is a midden and one of the camps 3? has the lingering smell of s***.
There is stunning footage of helicopters going up the valleys to Base Camp on the Toob..
This one is almost 30 mins of stunning views
