We've amber for wind. No further local alerts since mid afternoon when a flood alert was issued locally.
Going to the scout hut gave you some hints then.
Crisps, Quavers, chocolate biscuits...

Almost as big as a bowl. How big is this chocolate mug.

Last time I cleaned a roof, it got swept clean. With the harder to remove bits being done by hand. Yard looked a mess afterwards though.
Seen a handbuilt steam cleaner being used on one. More often used for cleaning yards and service areas.
And yours stood out with the moss next to the new roof!
They all seem to be using lighter tiles/slates nowadays. And not as many covering the same area either. Most noticeable when they "re-roof" an old house using the slates that were on it. Always patches showing.
Suppose I'm lucky living in a valley, it literally blows over most of the time.

Here's to little if no damage being done by Darragh.
Can't say I blame you.

Not certain who provides the weather alerts for council here. Took twelve hours of folk phoning to report flooding the other week before they did anything.

Wind picking up here...
From the N as well....
we'll sit it out.
I worked with a slater so learned a bit about it...
much more attractive as a roof material although I preferred the heavier Ballachullish ones, heavier..
be expensive to slate a roof now..

I'd have to measure it....more a bowl than a cup.
Off to fill it now....

Perchance you spoke too soon...
From that direction down here it'll be felt.
What else had you planned for today?
Does that imply you'll be up on the roof fixing sny damage yerself.
Be expensive get similar to what was on. Most of the smaller quarries, that supplied the older houses, are gone.

You drank hot chocolate from a bowl?
Well....

Chocolate cup measures 5 inches across and is 3 1/2 inches high,
It's one of these...
somewhere says they are circa 2000...

Around a pint?
I've a similar plain black one, complete with saucer. Bought in 2003, so yer "somewhere" doesn't seem that far out.
Faded through daily use.

I could get a pint and a quarter in it....tight though..
Pint and room for a decent head..
no saucer came with this one,
Think I'd be right saying a birthday or Xmas pressie.

Rumour had it I could recite you the scripts for most of the early Simpsons.
I even had a Bart 'Don't have a cow' tee shirt before it was on British TV...
I got to season 13 (?)..
same as South Park...
and no, I've never tried yon Duff beer..

I have been to Springfield...

my second Primary school was called Springfield

You don't normally have a head on cup of tea though.
Saucer or not, it looks as though it's lasted a while, old Homer and all...
You don't no which though.

Shouldn't believe all rumours, you should know that.
I'd be getting that t-shirt replaced if I were you.
You've not tried Duff! Amongst all your tasting sessions, you're yet to try it.

You were like me, you'd to back the second day as you didn't learn enough.

I suppose I should get a spare, not a Homer but in case, it goes ting....

Nah, it probably won't have that watery taste most of the beers over there seem to have..
Now Schlitz was a braw beer..
Used to get it in the 70s by the case load..
but what a silly size of can it was, I mean 440mls isn't bad but 300/330 is just two gulps..
568 or 660 is the best idea...
I suppose 440 is three decent gulps then?

Woke up to a beeping noise downstairs,
smoke detector thing, was hoping we'd a PP3, luckily still have a spare that battery fell short of 5 years in use, they don't make stuff the same nowadays blah blah:laugh:

Get a matching Bart one. Then yer Homer one won't go ting. Might just explode upon seeing Bart, but other than that you should be safe.

You like watery tasting beers?
There's a few available over this side o'pond you can spend some of yer airfare on.
There"s been some odd can sizes over the years, no doubt there. A few have been on the larger side.
568 is nigh on a pint, in it? Hence the odd size.
Think they use the smaller ones to sell more. One not being enough on its own, they know you'll open two, and not want to waste any.

Not the best time of day for it to start complaining about a low battery.
Why do they always do it either late at night or the early hours. Built in timer/programming that only allows them to alert you between certain hours!
Battery backup by any chance. Five years is a bit too long to be still working.
Worst are those with the built in battery that can't be replaced, or silenced easily at night.

Backup...
Not the first time that ones gone off..
It's the ones upstairs that are most guilty..
They are essential though...

Not got a passion for their beer which is more likely brewed here now.
Late 70s, the real deal Fosters was available in Tesco, a 26fl ounce tinnie, cost 78p (pretty expensive) then they started brewing it over here, you wouldn't recognise it....

Settled out now..
no rain.
Balmy 7.4c.....
be out sunbathing once it gets to 8...
