Were you as quick on yer uptake if the microwave?
Hearing some folk talk about them, there's nothing you can't make in one.

Not heard that name in a long while. They'll now appear in every shop that sells spuds. Just to rub it in.
You're more a flowery spud man...
Where did you come in the family competition anyway.

Photos, against the same neutral background, and a majority vote to decide the winner?

just cooked a couple lunker chicken pakora pieces for my tea..
does it perfectly..
Gotta get times right for cooking...
It doesn't do some foods well..
plus it saves wasting a lot of heat using the oven for say two folk..
I place the chicken in it tonight and ten mins later, perfect.
It's normally 10 mins for four pieces so just kept an eye..
I use wire grills and paper insets to keep clean but if any problem, dishwasher (no, not Mrs M)
Ionosphere all over the place.

Homemade or shop bought?
How do they compare to those you'd have done in the oven?
Surprised that there aeems to be a total lack of books of recipes, cooking ideas for them yet.
Can see the heat saving thing, especially if you're cooking on/with electric.
Wonder how much electric they use compared to a microwave, for the same food.
Isn't there another chance of seeing the Northern Lights down the bottom half of England this week?

Shop bought...
Superbly made and chunky..

Tons of infos on the net, some foodstuffs have times etc on packaging...
haven't looked at the power consumption tbh.

Papers jump onto any forecast of aurora, quiet now but hours ago it was estimated G3 (around 3pm), supposed downgraded to active, it flip flops all the time, they have to get it right sometimes,
the top of the cycle is meant to peak 2025 so the ole currant is active non stop and it all depends if it 'hits' us....
I use the Aurorawatch UK app...

Been a day...

Chicken is one meat that doesn't seem to be as good in shop bought stuff as homemade.

They'd speed up their uptake, and usage, if they appeared in print.
Considered when the microwave was bought. Some used more than an oven in the cooker would.

Think I got the Northern Lights story from a spacewatch site first, then followed up in a newspaper. I'll be keeping an eye open, and a digital camera to hand this week. So long as the skies stay clear.

Aye, another one'll soon be over.

WWIII sounds as though its just broken out.

Sadly, no fresh chickens to pluck....

Peaked between 15.00-18.00 yesterday according to the experts,
HF blackout last evening,
I haven't gone any higher than 5mhz this morning.

Aye, worlds gone nuts..

Maybe keep a few next year. Fresh eggs every morning... And should they choose not to lay any, the air fryer awaits.

Well clear skies were need to see anything. We didn't have them.
Is it back now, or dunt tha know.
Working up to the shorter stuff.

Fireworks at a venue in town, to finish the show off.

I'm clear......
Not much clear blue at all here, more a grey wet one at times, 11.7 mm so far today
Not back fully, yet.
Forecast is possible active overnight but quiet after that.
Hit and miss tbh.
It's cheap filler for newspapers and websites...

Good, you planning on making up for time lost or have plans been made for your time usage now yer good to go as it were.
T'weren't much here earlier. Rain a distinct possibility earlier on, now receding...
Here's for clear skies, just in case.
Missed the last two times they were visible down here. First to cloud cover, second(last time), not much visible to the naked eye. No cloud cover though.
They've all done that. Often in the hope that folk'll send their pictures in. Save them taking any.

Nope, I'm still pretty tired..
It was good even if it was muggy as eck out..

The secret is a (phone) camera but it is a pretty spasmodic thing.
I'd want minimum 5.5 (G2),
there was bloke walking by asking what I was looking at that Fri evening, he'd been out looking and seeing nothing, I told him to get his phone out and point S, kaboom...
it gathers the light in more intense....

Shandy time, no jorts

No point in saying get some rest...
It's the simple things that you end up missing the most.
Close down these parts as well.

There were this fella wondering what you were looking at on yer phone...
Tried waiting with an SLR the first time, wasted by cloud cover.
T"were only after seeing the pictures on here I thought about the phone.
Point S fer northern lights?

Enjoyed yer shandy

The point South bit was for that night as most was above and to the S,
it was viewable even without the camera..
Camera to the sky and spin round slowly.
Long exposure on the 'real' camera is the bees knees.
I've never really chased aurora much..

Just an aside, that Fri night here at the Towers, literally nothing to the N, W..
all showing directly above us and to the E and the S..

Last time round, it went an odd colour outside, but still a load of daylight left. Went dark and nothing visible to the naked eye.
Just catch them as they appear?

Must have been unlucky due to light pollution in not seeing anything.
The overhead bit I can understand, but viewing the northern lights to your south sounds odd.
