What you need to start doing, is coming at it from a different angle. Summat along the lines of "If I use the lid from the next size down, inside this one, I could build a cheap directional aerial."
It might save you from buying more.

Rescue plant, would that be something akin to buying it because you felt sorry for it? Then realised you needed summat to put it in.

The begonias won't be the end of yer buying.
