I'd three kids here today, my youngest two (big kids) and Toodles...
Painter still rolling away so keeping Toodles occupied is a full time job for granny.
All go at the Towers...

Coffee grounds are a good source of nitrogen..
has other helpful stuff in it.
best for acid loving plants.
slugs don't like it ( a liquid coffee brew 1:1 with water works better apparently)

I'll tub mine from tomorrow...

I used to empty it late autumn, wheelbarrowed onto small trailer and duped out the shore...
Chilled drink time...
And I bet Toodles was the easiest watch and look after.
Is there still a bit needs doing that you're paying him the night rate?
And you can't go anywhere...

Heard that about the coffee grinds on the compost heap.
Never heard them being used as a slug repellent before. How good are they?
Do you use the used grounds in water or old coffee?

Will you find the time to!

Dumped at sea! Were that legal?

Apple juice?

Theory says one unit water to one unit brewed coffee..
Grounds work but apparently the above is best, I'd be using the grounds as they might last longer?
Tomato plants aren't a fan though...

There was a massive composty spoil heap out at once was a tree nursery...
Thousands of trees bought in for a 'plant a tree' for jubilee (late '70s) then a general 'pick any two trees' and we'll deliver if you can't attend the weekend giveaway..
Easy money for the local supplier,
order and they touched nothing...

I hate fizzy juice instead...

Hopefully painting all done tomorrow....

Might give it ago, get some cheap coffee to try it with.
Slugs/snails might eat them, then invite their mates round for the free feeding.
Taint the flavour of the tomato?

We'd similar, then the council decided to charge folk for helping get rid of their waste. Didn't last longer after that.
'77, Silver Jubilee? They were planting them in the then new park built near me. Not many survived.

Is that what yer supping now...

Poor chap should be finished soon given you've had him working day and night.

Tomorrow should finish part one :cuppa:

Dunno 'bout tainting more the pH of the soil?
I got seaweed extract feed to try this year...
although Boost will be my mainstay for general feeding.
Better protect seedlings as frosty forecast overnight.

I remember planting 1,500 whips one day (Fri),
arrived back on site Mon and all pulled, gone. Just as well the 'triangles' we dug were still there.
Some idiot manager said we hadn't stamped them in..
He was told 'they are slim and slender and easily pulled out'.. odd sweary word in there.
Once again, someone in charge in a cooncil who hadn't a feckin clue.
Trust me I met lots and lots of them...
I even had a chemist as a manager....
feck me....

And part two starts next week?

Might have some beneficial effects in that case.
Tried seaweed years ago, nothing notable came from it's use. Others swore by it, and had better luck though
Cadburys!
They're predicting snow for down here. We'll see...

T'weren't me guvnor...
Probably sold on.
Air matched the sky colour.
They don't often get the job because they're actually qualified. Often it's to stop them causing more damage.
Met one or two similar types missen.

He's off on holiday, to recover.

Trouble is you'll have most of the work done by the time the results start to be seen.
Think it might come down to soil type. Yours will be all fresh stuff, brought in to build the gardens on.
Next mild morning may be a while off yet. They may be inside for a while yet.
I hope you said that they could do that.
My money is on garden.

That type of manager.
You can't do that, they're the only ones who know exactly how much is being spent. Besides their job is vital to the smooth running of the department they're in.

Hopefully it'll all be indoor work this weekend.

Indoor?
can't really hang around as busy, busy trying to get downstairs in order for 'do'
Cake involved :cuppa:

I'll let you off this time. However, a note will be required next time saying why...
They don't seem to think much about the gardens when they're building new houses. Almost as though they'd forgot their plans included them. Result being a garden that can just about grow the grass for a lawn.
Aye, indoors/inside as the cold snap due to hit wouldn't be very good for whatever you'd be growing this year.
Trying to get downstairs? What's stopping you, you've only a set of stairs to go down! Another one?
Do you like what you've seen of the cake?
