No Toodles today...
Just Mrs M and me out for a wee jaunt, 29 ml N of the border this week..
food stop on way back...

I won a free lucky dip for twa numbers.. this'll be the lucky one...
mind you I have to go throw them a couple of months money....

The freedom is the bit that'll be the hardest...
I moan that my long cycling trips are gone (unless I go electric)..
and my hill trips too.
and he's got a quarter century on me...
oh well.
Toodles toddled off elsewhere...

Mrs M getting to like the new car slowly?
Yer toying with danger, getting that close to the border. She'll be over the border next time, you watch yerssen.
Shopping or eating?
Evere leave reviews or comments when you visit eateries.

It could be, and you're in it.
Eyeing up any ESE facing houses yet?

He's not sold on the idea. He likes just being able to go outside when he wants, whatever the weather. Think he's worked outside in nearly every kind of weather to hit this part of the world.
You still get on yer bike though. Even just the short trip on yer tod.
Have you considered a tandem, for the pair of you.
Yer hills will always be there, waiting on yer.
Quarter century, you only in yer seventh decade!

I wish she would take me over the border.....
aye, liking the change....
eating...and a walk around a harbour.

last time we were on a tandem, Mallorca circa '83 and within a min of Mrs M getting control the front part, she took us into a wall, luckily not at speed...
never been on a bike since.....
eighth.
anyway back on grandparent duties..
no rest for the wicked

Suppose she left you to find yer own way back!
And you, how's it sitting with yer good self?
Walking off what you'd just eaten, wise choice.

Tell her she's to take up the stoker's position, leaving you in charge of direction changes.
You never know, she might just be waiting for the invite...

Toodles or the Young 'Un?

Beag..

I've a bus pass, I'd make it back:laugh:
I've some work in the garden if it dries up so I'd have been brought back...then dumped later today.
I'd just get my big hanky and staff and set off on another of life's journeys and put this almost 50 years episode behind me, mind you a bit slower than way back then..
I might enjoy doing my own thing instead of being 'directed'

He'll have slowed down a bit compared to the "Whirlwind".

And a working thumb!
You might be waiting a while for it to dry up. Given the amount of water that's fallen so far this year. Put yer feet up...
You'd be walking, not pedalling, life's highway?
You know where yer big(white?) hanky is?

You could try before you decide!

A big white sheet, hanky couldn't carry my porridge etc
I did a lot of hitch hiking in the early 70s..
travelled the length and breadth of the UK..
no hanky or stick though...
rucksack and walking boots helped....
oh well, itchy feet? may be just too late..
191 mm so far...

Would your stick hold the weight of the porridge?
Yer thumb got a good working out back in the day then.
Doubt you'd manage it now. Too many people not willing to pick people like yourself up. Some companies now even ban their drivers from picking people up.
You still got both rucksack and boots?
Give those itchy feet a scratch with yer stick. See if that eases the itching.
First dry day this month here.

not may folk in them during the dark, alive that is.
waterproof bivvy bags a boon....

I do draw the line at conditioner being used...
no soft towels, rough outdoor dried please..

Busy in garden earlier, potting up bamboo into bigger tubs..
Getting too heavy for us oldies here to move about.

Good afternoon Tealandians :hello:
Funny day WXwise, no real rain, the odd smirrr for about 2mins at a time.
that little it hasn't registered..
Afternoon there...
Enough to have you wondering if its worth starting anything outside, just in case?
Continuing dry with a slight breeze here.

Never got them resoled. Pairs of and only one pair of feet to put them on.
The hills are shrinking up near you!
A "few".

Doubt you missed much that far south. Seems to be a popular place to spend the night still.
Very little chance of someone's snoring keeping you awake.
Used some small tents, but never a bivvy bag.
That'll be old age creeping up on yer.
No conditioner used here.

Think we're on the third consecutive dry day now. Hosepipe ban soon at this rate.

You working together or under supervision.
Get the Young Un earning his keep.

Still have to level the 'stepping stones' we've placed them on....

I have eaten so many apples
Did a couple of days works and got offered a job with a caravan to stay in, I almost stayed but I was still a yunc..
I headed home, did some more wandering work, spent the day (Fair Saturday) in a fading North Ayrshire holiday resort and came home 6 years later....
well, what was home before I went out for the day..
if I hadn't met the future Mrs M, I would more likely still be there....
In 78 and 79, spent alternate weekends in Glencoe in a 2 man tent (2 men just fitted inside it) but got access to climbing bothy, the tent was much warmer tbh..
those were the days....
off to watch the Reds and Blues (NI)
Well, the dry spell has been ended. They'll never issue a hosepipe ban now.

Hose sorry now?

I'll get my coat
