I knew where the road headed (sign said so)
but not the route..
Enjoyed and would follow again.
Missed our 4th anniversary of moving in here at the new Towers..
doesn't seem that long as it has bloody flown in.....

Yes, a Foggy special..
problem is I have a big head (literally)
Print? I'll mull over it and decide...
One of these hums and haws thing.
Suppose someone had been out swapping signs.
Let yer chauffeur take care of the driving. Yer'll just sit there admiring the passing scenery.
Think you should have have/have a drink to mark the occasion.
Corporation pop or coffee?
Has tha managed to get all the unpacking done, and got rid of the boxes yet?
The more we check the more we've spent. Just like money really.

You'll be buying a wax jacket and leather driving gloves to complete the look...
That sort of price. They can be the worst, buying it just in case.

I wasn't sleeping well so listened to it most of the night. No morning wander today. Just jumped on the Wattbike for a few miles instead. I think it's maybe calming down slightly now.
T'weren't that bad that it stopped yer morning walk, were it?
You'll be doing it in yer sleep soon!

Not at the price of a waxed jacket now....
It wasn't my clothing establishment of choice...
I'm more a 'George' or 'Tui' type (Decathlon for breeks)..
I did have a Barbour jacket in the 80s-90s (no flat cap)..

Driving gloves with off white string backs(has to be dark tan leather), a rally jacket from the early 70s, flat cap just not my style..

Triumph Stag or Reliant Scimitar, absolute fabbo....

"The look"doesn't come cheap but it's worth it. If you want it...
Pricey? Were you taken by force, made to spend money on things you didn't want?
Whichever is the best value does me. Cheapest not always best value.
And they weren't cheap then, don't look at the price if you see one on the peg.

Light to mid tan depending upon the car you're driving at the time.
Why a rally jacket
If a flat cap isn't your style, why'd you want one!

Not a Reliant Regal or Robin...

I have driven a Robin and its cousin, the Bond Bug...
when i did try to get my driving licence, I was mostly let loose on a Toyota pickup with column gears but the firm I worked for had Robins for their tradesmen and the Boss had a Bug...
I took every chance I had to nip about in any of them.
sadly never got to my test in time but that's another funny story.
I have my bike licence....

I walk in, I see something I like..
check the sizing first I buy...
signs like 25% off lure me in:laugh:

My old napper is feeling the cold in my advancing years..

I used to lust after a Stag, but I believe the engines were a bit duff due to an alloy cylinder head that warped and some folks replaced the engines with a Rover.

Bit of a rust bucket as well..
still see the odd one for sale on yon Bangers and Cash prog on Yesterday..
Wish I had an old RS2000 Escort lying rotten in a barn..

Me? if I could choose?
Yon red Ford Mustang Richard Hammond drove in one of those The Grand Tour programmes....
My old late 250cc super dream was done and I got offered a 650cc Honda which was the precursor to the CBR 600, I decided to open it up on a straight mile and a bit heading to work one morning..
I got to 1** and it was frightening the acceleration but it had an untraceable electric fault so I ended up with a 250cc scooter..
more fun plus point and go.....
I thought about a bike or scooter but I got told NO!!!!
I renewed my licence(age) just in case.....

Did you ever own either though.
Let loose with a Toyota pickup! You'd have had fun in that. Did you rev the Robin round the corners?
Those Bond Bugs were odd looking. Local dealer had two placed back to back, marked His and Hers.
Taking yer test in a Bond Bug would have been interesting.
You ran out of time?
Still! No points.

They've got you by then. Seldom let you escape without selling you something.
And if it's the wrong size do you still buy because you like it.
50% Off would have you demanding they take yer money. Be careful in the Boxing Day sales...

Buy a wig!

I can't sleep most nights so it doesn't matter....
sleep app on my watch says 6 hrs 27 mins sleep and 7 mins was deep..
I know I'm on the List for a visit as I've been a very good boy this year......
The excitement keeping you awake...
Think you need more deep sleep. Recommend an afternoon snooze.
They all say that. You'll have to wait and see.

My test date coincided with my heavily pregnant boss's wife appointment at maternity..
She was something around 11am, I'd gone into the hospital just to read the magazines and papers and saw a trolley rushing towards where C had gone, mins later she rushes by me on't trolley, nurse came over to explain my wife (LOL) was in labour. I explain 'my bosses wife' so I had to then use their phone to call T and tell him to get his erse up quickly, our office person came with him to drive me to test centre, sadly 45 mins late I was...moved to another job not long after so driving test not followed up on. I made 3.5x the wage so took the other job.
Bug was weird but good, Robin a bit not liking crosswinds but if I'd have sat my test in one, it'd be a motorbike licence (saved me the drama later), my motorbike test was one of the last where the bloke told you where to go etc etc, Left, Left then right type stuff and he walked to mark you. man, fun heading down the motorway to home, I'd sat my test in Glasgow's leafy suburbs as the Part One test I did in Glasgow too.
I'd been at college in the area so knew it well plus my pre-test lessons, I knew which tree that bloke would step out from for emergency stop..
He told me right whatever whatever I turned first corner out of his sight and a car almost took me , my heart really headed through the roof.
The excitement keeping you awake...

I got socks today.. bamboo ones..
excitement now over..
apparently Mrs M bought them with the early presents...

Must have caused some confusion, and a bit of talk, at the hospital. You being there with the bosses pregnant wife.
Did he get his erse and the rest of him up there, sharpish?
45 minutes, did you not explain that you'd just come from the hospital where "your wife" had gone into labour. And that you'd left her there.
Workwise, were the other job better.
The Bug looked odd, and they can fetch a decent price these days.
Nowadays they follow you round, so have some idea of what to expect on two wheels whilst on the road. The carpark, near the ambulance station were where they held the motorcycle tests here. Not certain if it were chosen just because of it's location in relation to the ambulance station or town center. Driving test center was and still is over a mile away.
You'd seen him perform the same test on someone else?

Wait whilst the start growing up under yer toenails...
Ow'd tha cope with the excitement!
You bought her an early present as well.

It makes a great story looking back on it..
Most of the work was grant work for old housing stock,
I got told by the boss that best to look for something else so......
the other job was a bit of a change in working practices, concrete oil rigs..
left the house at 6am, bus at 6.35, ferry across to work site then at 5pm ferry back, bus then pub at 6pm..pub until 10pm then home, rinse and repeat.
We did 'slips' which were constant concrete pours and for a set amount of days it was 12 hour shifts and you suffered financially if you missed a day as each day the bonus payment rose, I could earn £270-£300 a week in the mid 70s...
so you could imagine the travelling time added to the 12 hr shift....
I lasted 10 month..
Mrs M regrets not meeting me a year earlier....

I did the other day
