Or is it up to us Yorkshire folk to show there's other ways of doing things.
I think half of them do it with a book, if not a TV series in mind, from the word go. Actually doing the place up to live in is a secondary consideration.

I'd have answered earlier but I made the stoopid mention of a cycle to Mrs M..
I had to go through with it, first in over seven weeks and a local jaunt through paths, woods and country roads (no J.Denver),
em sitting puggled, wabbit, cream crackered amongst many other tired things...
that'll stop the spontaneous bravado....

I used to joke that around every bend on a Scottish island road was a sign for a Studio or Gallery, the old 'we gave everything up to move here' , the price of some houses down the SE could literally buy you a small estate a few years ago...
its the now inflated house prices the younger locals cannot afford..

anyway parcel has arrived, I'm off for a snooze..

House prices were cheaper in the country than the cities. Especially when compared to down south.

A similar situation down here. Lack of interest from the local council means that unless someone is hurt, they'll do nothing. Closing off vast areas of land that were used daily, by loads of folk.

I've been getting trained since 1976..
no more, it would have to be intensive at my age..
I would buy a house high on a hillside with extensive views s and SW...if I won lots of money.
2x 17 element yagis high on a lattice tower.. minimum

the meshcom thing I got going, I have to get a NOV (notice of variation) to run a gateway so waste of time just to ping a server in Wien...
