It some daft digital tones it plays...
the tune lasts longer than the spin

Just watched a prog on boats on't telly so have decided again to live on a canal narrowboat if I'm left alone..
Choice of two canals here...

Been a day......
Time to log up and backup online for everything....
Had hoped to take in some of the ladies TT and due to unforeseen circumstances, I might miss tomorrow now.....
priority is seeing the ladies on Sunday....
You mean the "Your call is important to us... " music. Where your call is that important they leave you on hold for 1/2 an hour or more.

You'll have your narrow boat to hand, or will it a barge with the extra room?
Assuming you'll be left alone of course.

Been a Thursday down here, what day up round those parts.
Logging'll take most of the night, the backup you can just set it running and let it do its stuff.
No missing Friday, final day before the weekend. The weekend will seem shorter if you miss it!
Not available on catch-up, or are you catching up on your catching up.
The weekend is supposed to be dry and sunny. Wrap up, take yer waterproofs and umbrellas when you go to see the women...

It'd allow you to use the boat lift. Don't think a barge would fit in it.
Narrow boat on the open wave! you know they're flat bottomed.
Pandemonium on the airwaves due to recent meteor and solar activity. Meteor hit the scout hut?
Two days on which there's a chance to catch some real sport, in person as it were.

Entry fee too high. Invite them along to take part.
You have them bring a bike...

Have you tried closing the curtains. It might help.

No use in telling you to draw the blinds, you'll never draw them all straight.

Nothing over the airwaves to let anyone know if it's going ahead!
Your faceache group limits who can find it and view it.

Nowt new on the telly front.

Question, any reason for radio and satellite signal disruption last night, around half ten. That you're aware of?

All it takes in a sudden CME blast from the ole currant bun..
see Carrington Effect..
Quiet skies overnight apparently nothing above Kp2..
I was still monitoring 144mhz for pings, got one from POL and DEN..
never expect much with my set up but hey ho...
Propagation on normally dead HF bands was VG..
I even got spotted in VK land the back of 10...

Didn't last long, less than half an hour from first noticing it. Odd in that it affected both satellite and ground based radio at the same time. I were expecting thunder, but none came.
You sound disappointed. Maybe they were all watching the cycling.
Pings and dings on the radio!
Were they new contacts or ones you'd had already.
Are they planning to launch their longships any time soon.
Probably asked before, but on a "normal" night, what frequency range are you watching.

Noticed you were up early this morning. Getting your viewing point for the race.

Last night? working 6m (50 mhz) for a short time..
had been listening there and 2m for meteor scatter stuff but suspect not MScat on 6 as propagation was running late on.
These SDR (shortwave defined radio) units nowadays save the need for a dedicated radio...
I use a cheapo loop in the loft for it although I can attach other antennas if needed.
I loaned out my spare and within the hour both folk had ordered one....
I use RG6 satellite coax on mine as it is only for RX'ing....

no cycling as events at home are priority just now..
I'm off for another:cuppa:

Nothing from the Perseid's!
Most of that, aerials excluded, will be all be done on computer now I suppose. No need to have a seperate Radio Room, with the seperate sets on one wall.
In ways I'm sorry I didn't get my own setup years ago. Would I still be in to it now?
Hope you charged a deposit, non-returnable, when you loaned it out.

When I said you were going looking for yer spot, I were thinking more of being chauffeured there. Deck chairs aren't too easy carry on a bike.
Close to home at that. Enjoy
That kettle boiled yet!!
