I keep reading in the news that we are going to have 4 months of the worst snow in 10 years. Lets hope not.

What's wrong with that?
You have to remember that it's aimed at a small piece of the South East, where half an inch of snow stops all motorised traffic. The intense cold stops people walking anywhere, combined with the snow it grinds to a halt.

I know of someone who commutes with a Bakfiets who charges his phone via a USB charger connected to the hub dynamo.

I normally carry a powerbank in the handlebar bag when I'm out, I better go top it up though
