Stuck to main roads, then had to divert to LBS (well. local to where I was)
then slowly back up an icy in parts track,
last four miles was done in hailstones, snow and blue skies.

TBH 4G is the way to go, mind you, I've even put these off due to ice patches, apparently you can spread salt on them to melt the ice.
They are pretty consistent in their bounce etc now.
Virtually maintenance free although twice a year we had to go round the area, spraying the weeds on them

Extra padding for icy pavements, comforter to stop you screaming blue muder, when you do slip.
