Since they introduced the 5p carrier bag oop 'ere, there is definitely a noticeable reduction of them being lifted as litter. It was a massive problem, if I had a quid for everyone I'd litter checked over the years.....I have been recycling the supermarkets bags for years, must have several hundred at least. They are starting the charge for carriers in October I believe to come in line with yourselves and Wales. My stash should last for ages for the pedal bin and then the charity bags save me buying wheelie bin liners
