I miss standing up.

All the "sit down" brigade get on my wick, especially when a goal looks likely.

Stretford End still don't sit down, none of them, ever.

Capacity has been capped because of it I heard, don't know why, they all have tickets & still occupy the same amount of space.

So true, growing movement for standing, but not sure if it will ever succeed.
Know the feeling about the corporates etc, League Cup final or whatever they call it, Villa v Leeds, we had expensive seats near the steps and were doing a lot of standing like you do. Prawn sandwich brigade complaining they couldn't see the game, a lot of big lads in our area, basically they were told to shut it and if not happy leave. At a guess on freebies as they went before the presentation and were not Leeds.
Man U fans and the security have been at loggerheads for a good many years over those issues you mention, heard that on various phone in etc. Also know some good Man U lads from round here who are regulars and they have been on about it for years.

Afternoon Bobby M. :hello:

How long you been a Grid Iron fan ?

Used to do a bit (in the street at night) between say 13 & 15 years old.

A mate was really good, but then he was good at everything except football, he was 6ft 4" with massive mitts & could throw arrow straight for what seemed like miles.

He had the Pro helmet & pads, the lot & played amateur American Football (there were a few teams back then).

This was all in the mid 80's when (as you remember) it was huge over here with the kids.

I used to stay up, watching NFL in my bedroom, listening out for my Dad (Step Dad) coming up the stairs, then turn it off quick.

Never got away with it though, telly used to take about 3 mins to reduce down to a little spot in the middle.

49'ers for me, had the best quarter back going.

Do you remember "The Refrigerator" ?

I was pally with a couple of Wisconsin natives when the USA in the 70s had the naval base at nearby Holy Loch...
Cheap cases of Budweiser and Schlitz, luvly..
You know I'm a radio ham..
but in those days I was a SWL (short wave listener) so their enthusiasm for the Packers rubbed off and I listened to AFN on Sunday evenings for NFL games esp if I knew it was to be the Pack..

Funnily I'm from Greenock(next door to here) and Green Bay has similarities plus when C4 first started showing it, GB was a decent team so an obvious choice and been a Packer through thick and thin..

I've seen the Fridge live at Wembley , Bears v Dallas, I've also seen the Rams, Dolphins, 49ers and Denver....
hopefully Lambeau one day...

Montana and Young I liked but Dan Marino was the man for me in those days BUT Brett Favre (google him) was better(and a traitor) but the current incumbent is going to be greater than them all, No#12 Aaron Rodgers..

I remember the Birmingham Bulls, London Olympians, Nottingham Panthers etc.. I was a fan of the Glasgow Lions ( regular at the games)

I nearly played but an iffy ankle put paid to that...

PS The Bears still suck:thumbsup:

Large sums of money £££ €€€ or $$$ I don't mind, holiday home on the Med, or that thing, you know the one I mean, think it sounds like Horatio if any ladies (not of the Forum, don't want trouble) are stuck on ideas.

I have set up a just giving page as you are all so generous, visit it @justgiving/giveusallyercashandvaluables#ifancyanAndalucianHoliday
