For a few years back in the 80's I ran in the international cross country race in Gateshead and enjoyed a Newcastle pub crawl on the Saturday night. I don't suppose it would be as civil these days!

I remember running in a fell race in the Mournes and a sheep panicked when confronted by runners charging towards it - it tried to climb the Mourne wall. Must have been thinking, "oh sh;t, here we go again"!
