Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.
I suppose so, never surfed, did have an opportunity when I lived in Hawaii, wish I had taken it.... very few visitors ever get to surf the locals water (and trust me, you have to be invited by a local or you could end up in the hospital).
while I grew up on the water it wasn't surf friendly

Do you have any kids. It would be more difficult if you did I imagine.

Good for you. And of course no fuel bills because of the warmer climate. You will certainly get fit, and you won't have humungous hills either

It does get cold enough in the winter to run a bit of heat but certaily not like other areas...... however, the summers are unbearably hot and humid so A/C is required.

Houston is only 43 feet above sea level and mostly loam, silt and sand. I've heard it's very flat.
I'm guessing gas/petrol is expensive there compared to other places. One oddity about the US is some kind of import expense. Any state that is the majority producer of a specific good, will sell it within the state for a lot more then other states. Take for instance Wisconsin is the leading producer of dairy, when I lived there, milk was $1.50 more per gallon then anywhere else I've lived.

That's crazy. Not good at all. Do you know what kind of work you would like to get if you could?

That's weird, so each state sets its own taxes?
