Shame. I think there was an Audax which went Machynlleth way from Leominster once upon a time. Also I usually ride the Wild Wales Challenge from Bala on August bank holiday Sunday each year. That gets out your way some yearsToo far I think. Never mind.
Yep - I've given up with the "serious" ones now. Much prefer a pleasant social pace with pals. Devil's Bridge area for MtB's I think?I think there is a club in Machynlleth, but to be honest I have seen one or two of the riders and they scare the bejeezus out of me. I would look rather stupid. The are very serious riders. We get a lot of cyclists here from all over the place, and this area is famous for mtbs. We have a lot of forest around here. People come from all over the UK and from beyond.

Big roads are boring IMHO. Lanes are best I think. Must be seen tho WD - bright yellow for safety
There are some very serious riders. Personally I just like to pootle around the narrow and unused lanes. That way no one can see me. lol

Evening mikey. Had a good day. ?
On the subject of welsh cycling country side, anyone know what it's like around Caerphilly way. Going down there next year to visit eldest son and D in Law and not sure which bike to take. Low geared torer or higher geared road.
Not too bad, went out for a short ride in the dark and cold this evening. Really like the idea of a cup of tea right now!
I must admit I had a fright ne day. On my way home going over a narrow bridge only about half a mile from home, I had an encounter with a WVM. Ended up with a sprained wrist and was shaking. Even since then my confidance has gone a bit, so the sooner I can get off the main road the better for me.
