Out of curiosity, I just had a look at the ensembles for the weather models - possibly going cold enough for our first bits of sleet or snow next week.;)

Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.

Don't tell me. It's going to be right over my head isn't it. ? There is snow on snowdon already.

Snow is beautiful for the first 2-3 days then it just gets to be a real pain. I wish it was either a guaranteed get snowed in winter so we can be prepared for the long haul or guaranteed no snow.

Planning your commutes is a nightmare if it snows you spend more time getting to work than you do actually working.

^_^

Snowdon has an excuse. It's 3560' tall and as the temperature drops by roughly 3 degrees C for every 1000' you climb, it's just under 11 degrees colder at the top than at sea level (and that's without windchill:wacko:).

I've never lived anywhere remote enough to get snowed in. Feel like I've been missing out.

Also, Shrewsbury is in a rain shadow so it can often stay clear here when a few miles down the road there is deep snow.

If I am ever in a position to buy a property () I'll view properties in the winter so I know what I'm getting. So many people moved from their urban worlds to the back end of nowhere where I grew up having only ever seen it in the summer and couldn't cope with it in winter.
