I am wondering whether the font being used has been corrupted in some way so the 'o' does not display. Does the 'O' (uppercase 'o') work? If it does, then the key itself is working.

Of course, this will not be much use if any of your passwords include either 'o' or 'O'!

I am intrigued that a replacement keyboard didn't help ...

My password on start up contains an o. Yes, I could not work out why a separate keyboard did not work.

I tried a technical and very complicated procedure and it now works.

(I switched the puter off, and switched it back on again.)
