Is back from Southport, TPT very wet, weather surprisingly good for most of the ride, 1 big shower and some constant rain for the last few miles from Lymm.
In desperate need of :cuppa:

@Peteaud - two options, both involving going up and over the A303 instead of the "fun" way via Stockland. One slightly longer but a bit flatter.

From where.

There are a few ways, the c2c route is quite good.

From Taunton. I was hoping to avoid Windwhistle...

From Taunton go along the C2C route untill Ilton, here go right along cad lane and across the 358 on the old road.
Into Donyatt and join the Stop line at the station
into chard ( a few good cafes and a cycle shop) and go onto the Axminster road but turn off for forton.
Use the back lane (Loveridge lane) to drop into perry street and round by forde abbey.
Then use the Horseshoe road (hill but the only real big one) to run pretty much straight across
north of Marshwood and pick up NCN2 at Shave cross.

EDITED TO ADD

Or from Taunton go to Horton via Staple Fitzpaine (thats the way i go) into Horton and then Donyatt.
