Frogs are smart creatures, I am sure he/she can find their own way, it had looked after itself before you came along so I am sure he/she will be fine. Sometimes getting involved can do more harm than good.

Did someone mention my name?

I'd be inclined to agree with lulu. If you think it needs shelter, then you could rig up a bit of board or something, propped up at one end on a brick or something. If it's looking for a pond, it'll move on overnight.

I did not want to get too involved, as you say Lullabelle it can do more harm than good. Kermit is now in the shelter of the trunk of a large shrub, and it is gently raining. Kermit has burrowed into the soil. This might be for camouflage or to keep warm, I am not sure. Building a shelter with cardboard and a brick, might attract the inquisitiveness of the cats. After a night in the garage, Kermit needs some rest to recuperate.

As long as the frog is somewhere sheltered and damp then it should be ok. It must have been local enough to have got into the garage and so it should find its way back to where it came from, in due course, now that it is back outside.

When I was in London my cat 'found' our garden toad and decided to bring it in. Half way in she dropped the toad, which crawled back outside, and wondered about dragging her tongue on the carpet and foaming at the mouth looking very xx( !

A quick call to the vets assured us that she would be fine, as would the toad, and to just give her access to plenty of water.
