This seems reasonable enough, if you want it that much, I'll buy it for you...
This seems quite small and manageable though.

Thing is, if I was to build a large scale traction engine I would avoid all the worry about boiler testing, safety valves, and hot bits of metal by building a 'Showman's' type engine with the big dynamo on the front.
However, the dynamo would actually be a motor that drove the flywheel, and hence the drive gears and 'piston', instead of the other way around, and it would be electric powered. The boiler could be painted in black and copper, like a well known brand of battery! There could even be a smoke generator in the funnel. ^_^

It would be like a 'zombie' steam engine. All there and active, but dead and cold.

Thaks Jo, so any signs of spring yet? It's still 35C here, no wind and no showers for over a week, even the locals are complaining that it's the hottest hot season they can remember.
Summer in Yorkshire?

We've been out walking around Trafford Park industrial estate taking photographs of the old railway network. Between us we took over 300 photos, some duplicated.
It will be a good record of stuff for when it is finally all ripped up and scrapped but also it is inspiration for our model rail layout.

I take Arch to all the best places.
