Just got back from a nice 25 mile ride, didn't need my jacket or longs but did need a gillet and arm and leg warmers but warmer than yesterday and no snow.

We've been out walking around Trafford Park industrial estate taking photographs of the old railway network. Between us we took over 300 photos, some duplicated.
It will be a good record of stuff for when it is finally all ripped up and scrapped but also it is inspiration for our model rail layout.

I take Arch to all the best places.

There's something rather daring about walking along down the middle of a railway line, even when you know the ends aren't joined up to anything any more.

And I found a bright pink umbrella and a discarded Hi-Vis vest, so it was a profitable afternoon.

The Kelloggs Factory has a plaque on it, announcing that it was opened in 1938 by Mrs FM Millward - "A British Housewife". And all along the top of the fencing, roundels with the cornflake cockerel head in them:

NT reckons, at OO, those will be 3mm across. I think the gauntlet is down for me to make them...

It is quite an odd feeling wondering down the middle of a railway track. Driving away after I also found myself nearly stopping at the lines near junctions to give way in case a train was coming!

We could call it 4mm across as they were around 10" IRL and so a scale 3.3mm
