I often look at the "funny" images that get shared on facebook and ponder the fact that while everyone else is going "yes, yes, that's me all over", I'm sitting there scratching my head and feeling as though I've wandered into an alternative reality.

I've been looking for a little framed picture that my ex's twin sister bought me for my birthday about 20 years ago. I have misplaced it so I will have to describe it ...

An attractive young woman is staring up into the sky. She looks wistful, and a tear is rolling down one cheek. Inside a speech bubble are the words "But ... if they can put a man on the moon, why can't they send them all there!"

I wasn't quite sure what she was trying to tell me!

Along with cold fingers, cold ears, cold legs...

I'd be useless at beach holidays. I love the sea and going to the beach but I can't just lie there. Not even with a book.

Beaches are for walking on, scavenging for curiosities, and dogs running with their tongues hanging out.

If I lived near a beach, I'd never get anything done. Especially if I actually had a view of the sea from my house. I'd just watch the sea all the time, and walk on the beach.

Maybe I should try a career as a beachcomber.

I must admit, I soon get restless and want to explore. We've got trips booked and I'm off diving, but for the first day we're just going to lounge around, get acclimatised, and forget about England.

We have trips planned and will be exploring. Plenty to see and do just at our pace rather than life by the clock like the rest of the time.
