Ten years ago, my younger son and I joined a north London diving club. It used to meet in the Park Road Pool, Crouch End for club nights and some practice in the 15m deep diving pool. Given what you've described, you'd have felt totally at home in that pool. The bottom of it was disgusting....I'm feeling quite xx( as I type this.
A few years ago my God-daughter and her sister came to stay. They wanted to go swimming every day and so I took them to the local pool. I didn't join them, preferring to wait with a :cuppa:

One day I watched as there was a bit of a commotion in the pool and everyone was asked to get out. The attendant was fishing something out of the pool. It was poo!xx(

I made a coffee sponge cake this afternoon.

:scratch::eek: I think I have made a mistake in the quantities. It is a Mary Berry recipe, which used four eggs, 8oz flour etc. So I decided to just make half the quantity. Except I still included the same amount of coffee in both the sponge and the butter cream for the filling. Does anyone like really strong coffee cake?

MMMMM!!! Espresso cake!

NT and I went out to an exhibition this afternoon, and then called in at a nice eatery for coffee and cake. We've only ever eaten meals there before, but the cakes always looked fab.

In the end, I had Hot Chocolate, with the trimmings:

NT had almond and cherry cake, I had chocolate and strawberrry. Very good. :hungry:

I often look at the "funny" images that get shared on facebook and ponder the fact that while everyone else is going "yes, yes, that's me all over", I'm sitting there scratching my head and feeling as though I've wandered into an alternative reality.

But ...

Yes, yes, this is me all over.

It was a pleasant surprise, although it was snowing and cold it was still nice. She's planning on doing the whole route around London in weekly stages. Needless to say I'll probably get roped into going with her. Well done No 2 son.

Been away all week. Thought I'd gone back to the winter when I went up to the Lakes with all the snow and very cold winds blowing up there. But then it got even more winter like with snow and drifting and folks being rescued from cars on the A595. I'm now back home and winter is here as well. :cold:

Should I go for a pedal tomorrow? Met office "Feels like" temps are predicted at -9C for midday:cold:
