Serious answer.

If it is lumps then pick it off with a soft object, plastic or wood would do. Use plenty of water and do it quickly before it cures really hard.
The sooner you can get it wet and start picking the better.

If it is just splashes of grey then plenty of water and gently wipe off with a sponge.

Here in Leicester we have about 5mm of slush in places, other than that just wet. It's been snowing all day, but with no real effect

Just looked out the back door, there is the lightest snow fall I have ever seen, when do we start panicing? :laugh:

Better stock up on tea bags just in case :cuppa:

I made a coffee sponge cake this afternoon.

:unsure::scratch::eek: I think I have made a mistake in the quantities. :blush: It is a Mary Berry recipe, which used four eggs, 8oz flour etc. So I decided to just make half the quantity. :blush: Except I still included the same amount of coffee in both the sponge and the butter cream for the filling. Does anyone like really strong coffee cake?
