Give it a go and see what comes from it you just never know.

I sometimes get phone calls and go to do jobs and I think well this is a big fat waste of time as it doesnt sound very promising and they turn into the biggest paying jobs of the year. In fact I had such a call the other day and I reckoned I would get at most a couple of hours labout out of it, well it has turned into a few hundred quids worth of labour and I have picked up a client who looks like turning into regular and who has a growing business.

Well, give the interview a go, and if you get the job then give that a go, and then decide. There's nothing wrong with deciding teaching isn't for you, if you've had a try.

Once you've done some, then the preparing lectures stuff gets easier, because you've already done the planning, and it maybe just needs a tweak here and there to suit different classes or syllabus changes.

Good luck with the interview, Gromit.

It is worth a go to see how you get on with it if/when you get a proper teaching post.

Also the training will help.
Iinexplicably new teachers are expected to teach (sometimes for years), at the risk of developing bad habits and alienating some young learners, before they are trained .
I was teaching, albeit in a workshop environment, for 2-3 years before I received any training. Had I been trained beforehand, had a better understanding of what was involved, and had a feeling of control over my life as a teacher (to counter the bullying), I might still be teaching now.
