Well, NT and Arch would have been proud of me last night .

At 10.00pm our neighbour knocked on our door to ask if we had the telephone number of a plumber. He said he had a burst pipe and water was pouring from his loft through various ceilings and into his kitchen. Mrs R found a plumber. The neighbour couldn't remember where his stopcock was and after a bit of hunting around, neither could I. So I went into his loft and found that the ball cock to his header tank was broken and showering water all over the place. I was able to turn off his water supply to the tank and stop the cascade. Poor chap has got quite a bit of water damage but I think it would have been far worse if he had waited for the plumber.

Well done. A good bit of thinking that every householder should utilise when the need arises.

Thanks CJ she woke up this morning they think it may have been a seizure but they dont know as the CT and MRI scans didnt show up anything.

She is been discharged this afternoon.

Yes it is good news, I just wish we knew what had caused it, all we know is that my dad found her unconscious at 2am and thats it.

She has had alzheimer's for a year or so and they are linking it to that, but as I say they didnt find any damage on the scans and you would have thought they would have. When she woke up she had no idea where she was or why she was there etc so we wont get any info there either.

Having taken the hint from my fellow members of CycleSwimChat Forum, I have been for a 37 mile ride today

Mostly because I've lost the cord from my swimming shorts....

I'm glad to hear the good news, Phil.

A former colleague of mine had a mini-stroke which pole-axed him for a couple of days, and he didn't have a clue what had happened, but he soon made a complete recovery.
