I watched Paul Rose on Inside Out North (last night) cycling The Way Of The Roses from Morecambe to Bridlington (170 miles). That'll be my next short tour - I think I might do it over three days in early April.

Is that the one that goes through Ripon, if it is I thought of doing it over a couple of days and just stop off at home over night but I would probably never be able to prise myself out of bed the next day to continue

It's nice just to set off when you feel like it and stop when and where you want. Plus I'm an anti-social ba**tad........

I like doing this one because it is sort of halfway for a lot of people from CC so we can all meet up and have a laugh. I am sure if we really really tried we could do a good time.

The only other one I do is the Otley Sportive but only because it is on the doorstep.

Yes its supposed to be a good route that one.

I cant remember which direction the route goes but if you find yourself going down Greenhow Hill towards Pately Bridge be very careful as it is a very very very very steep hill and I have heard a few people have come a cropper coming down that hill on a bike.

That long drag from the cafe to the top seemed to go on a lot longer last year than I remembered from 2011, perhaps it was the cold or the rain or the snow that started as me and potsy hurtled down towards Hebden Bridge with our hands frozen onto the handle bars.
