Yeah, it's great. A little bit of nearly wilderness in a county otherwise fairly neatly farmed. Some great rock outcrops to clamber over, a ruin, a folly, a herd of deer and several cafes, what's not to like?
It was lovely, the sun shone and there was not a cloud in the sky, we did the full circuit over Old John and down to the Cropston end. It was absolutely heaving, the car park full, the path by the river was like a mid summer day for the number of people, and they were queueing out the door at the cafe.

. Fortunately it was quiet as usual away from the main routes. Also the deer are out of the low paddock and back on the hills again, which improves the sight seeing.
Afterwards we went on to The Bradgate for lunch. It used to be a cheap, chips with everything kind of food service, but they have new landlords and the quality of grub is much improved - we indulged in a Roast Turkey lunch, which was very unusual for us, but most satisfying (feeling a little snoozy now).
Anyway, today we got our first hint that spring might be on its way before long
Brother is now despatched back to Oxford and were chilling out before going to see Francesca Martinez tonight. BTW, Henning Wehn was very funny last night, I would recommend seeing his live show.
