Well one thing for sure the only bad things ever written about me are by people who have never met me in person. I am definitely not a loads of money guy, but I do not knock people who are, as long as I have the choice like Marmion I will not pay inflated prices, I am a cyclist and by nature we are a tight fisted bunch.

I do have a habit of trying to see things from a different angle, often to get discussion going and see what people are really thinking, Like I said earlier about the green eyed monster, I am sure that is what upsets some people, like I have not got it so why they sort of thing.

Also, you guessed I do wind up a bit.^_^

Given that you mentioned it, you obviously think that it's something to be envious of - the thought never even entered my head that it would involve envy rather I saw it as people seeing the prices as them being over-charged. I understand the concepts of capitalism, however I'm not going to the Tour as I see the costs as "too much"; I could quite easily afford to go at the prices being asked but don't see the prices as worth paying.
I am not envious, but for sure some people will be.

Saying that £125 to camp in a field for a night is ridiculous isn't being jealous of those who want to/can pay it - it's just stating a fact.

Fair enough, if people pay it, then good on the landowners - but it doesn't make it any less of a rip off.

ps: no jealousy here, I'm 20 minutes ride from the stage 2 finish and an hours ride from the spot I'm going to watch from. Holme Moss is going to be too busy for me though I've considered it.

Pps: I've got camping room in my garden if any one wants to pay £100 per night, and I'll even make you a full English for that :mrpig:

These things always happen. There is always people daft enough to pay as well. I am sure I could find a patch to doss down in without paying £200.

Why do you need to be right on site, I live 8 miles from Skipton and will be cycling in on the day. There are loads of places near me where you pitch a tent for nothing, lots of b &b s. Look for lancashire, Earby , Barnoldswick, easy ride in .
