Received this link in an e-mail and it shows how some campsites and indeed farmers are cashing in on the Tour. At some of the prices they are quoting I wonder how many takers there will be???

Pretty much what we are doing, but with a tent.

Cheap flight, small tent in suitcase, cheap french campsite, job done.

Novel idea, I wonder if it'll ever catch on? The notion of supply and demand needs a catchy name, how about capitalism?

i was wondering a bit about where i could watch the TdF pass by - is there a route map out?

I live about 15 miles from cambridge. there is no way i'm going to attempt to get into the city, it's bad enough on saturday! being that i guess they'll come out of the city, they'd be mad not to, there is some beautiful country to be seen around The Fen (it's flat i'll grant you but it is, nonetheless, beautiful on a sunny day), i was thinking about packing the boy into the car, along with some foodstuffs and parking up in a lane/lay-by out in the countryside.

I agree that there's an opportunity for some to make some money here, but some of the prices I've seen quoted are ridiculous.

Thinking of renting out my spare room - should be able to pull in a few hundred quid!
