So many times I find that the good and the bad go hand in hand. I was going straight on at a roundabout and the driver behind me overtakes me & starts to make his left turn (no indicating either). Anyway that bad incident was nullified by the commendable bus driving a few minutes later. Email now sent to Arriva to say thank you, maybe the driver can be contacted, give her/him a bonus or something. If nothing else comes of it, just to send some good vibes.❤️

Another fine morning's ride, soul affirming. Birds, sunlight, and verdant plants, no wind, just a joy to be out. Sadly have to stop at work.

I don't mind going to work, it's the 8 hour wait to go home that is just bullshit.

Today was a more challenging commute than normal and as it’s only 3.5 miles it takes a reasonable high level of incompetence for me to be annoye.

aged Audi driven poorly
lots of confused parents driving their munchkins to school for the new term
car driver who doesn’t understand the advance cycle box at the traffic lights

on the bright side theres a funeral service tomorrow so that’s not going to improve my mood.

Woke up to rain pounding on the windows. Feck it.. short ride to the station. Got wet. Bought a ticket for a couple of extra stops closer to work.
Got off train other end and the rain had stopped. Bloody typical.

Rainy commute # 10 for the year
Same period last year 17 rainy commutes

Always put an England flag on my backpack when riding on St.George's Day... he was born in Turkey and died in Palestine, and is patron saint to many countries, a true symbol of multiculturalism. I also find it therapeutic at banishing the far-right demons of my childhood.

A nice 6 miles home yesterday was a little marred by the idiot in a white Audi who was one of the few who see a stranger cycling happily home from work for just three seconds - and their instinct is to shout "I'll smash your head in". Sadly the camera did not pick up enough of these words. I have no record or recollection of any prior involvement with this vehicle.

It was therefore good to avoid the usual roads and do an extended 11 miles to work today. Some of it was on a road closed to vehicles, some if it on a 30-40-50 mph country road with lots of safe passing spaces, and the rest on quiet lanes.

good week riding in was expecting an influx of traffic this week with return of schools not sure where everyone is but roads are quiet. Nice sunny but chilly start, managed three days out of four only because I wimped out on wed when it rained. Start on slightly longer route into work as of next week. Bike going back to bike shop Monday as for the fourth time gears still hitting cage at front grr.

Dry week light roads even with the school traffic. Apart from today where the usual friday emptiness was profoundly not present, a lot of drivers being annoying. Nothing dangerous just didn't feel fun.
