The journey home was thankfully less horrible; temperature was mild with an optimistic spring scent lingering in the air. Took the tow path all the way which is unusual on the return leg, however I just yearned for its quiet and relative tranquility compared to battling knobheads in cars.

It was OK, had a few nice interactions and a few less-so. Encountered for the third time the woman with the posh-but-thick twin suicide dogs.. this time the experience being split down the middle. On the one hand she evidently saw my need to pass as a convenient opportunity to test her training skills; her prowess causing one dog to sit neatly broadside on the tow path; blocking it entirely next to its owner. On the other hand after I'd negotiated around this obstruction she did have the decency to warn me of "a stick in my back wheel" (which was actually stuck hitherto un-noticed in my mudguard).

All that jazz aside the Brompton has done well over recent weeks and frequent-tyre-top-ups not withstanding has required little attention; for which I'm grateful.

Now in bed with some nice minimal techno after some dinner and a few beers, and words can't express how much I appreciate being able to shut the world out for a day or two.

I can confirm that cycling home with a stomach full of cakes & savouries is not comfortable or recommended (there was a 'Bake Off' type of thing in the office today). I also managed to hit the sweet spot at the local schools between the arrival of the school run mums & their fight for parking spaces and the chaos as the children leave school & the vehicle exodus begins.

Doesn't "again" imply it has stopped at some point?

Yep, usually first thing in the morning. Rinse and repeat - dry commute in, wet home.

Wet on the way home, dry on way in. A few idiot drivers, including Bob the Builder (my neighbour) - there was no was he was driving within the speed limit to catch me exiting the estate this morning given how quickly I can go round corners and pull away - both times pulled up right behind me in his van (we don't get on).

Then had two drivers pull out on me from a block of flats - neither looked, neither apologised as I skidded to a halt. The rest of the ride was very pleasant, and I made good time, after greeting a number of my regular dog walkers on the way in.

I seemed to be a bit lucky for this mornings commute. All weather apps showed heavy rain for this morning and most of the day. I left at 7.30am to just the smallest amount of mizzle in the air which soon cleared. Though it did threaten rain for the whole commute.
Now in the office, looking out the window it's getting darker so the rain is closing in. I'm expecting a wet ride home.

Just a bit of fine drizzle on toady's final, shortened inward commute and it looks like it may be dry for the trip to the rail station in about an hour's time. Doesn't look like I can say the same for the trip from Liverpool Street station to Euston station later on in the afternoon.

Woke up this morning looking at my phone for the weather forecast whilst listening to the wind howling. Spent what felt like ages deciding if I should get the bus. Eventually settled to ride in as I'd likely get wetter walking to and from the bus.

It wasn't as wet as I had thought, but certainly windy making some of the ride a bit harder than I'd hoped. However, it's bin day in Bristol and so I had a wonderful time filtering past lines of cars stuck behind them. Hopefully tonight's ride home is less windy!

It was forecast to be wet here but it was crisp and clear for the 4 miles on route to the Station with a good tailwind. And whilst I had the lights on I didn't really need them for the first time this year.
Almost a Carlsberg Commute. But as the train went south it got darker and darker and two stops before mine the heavens opened. As expected I got pretty drenched and I think the lights were needed then. A bit of an anti-Carlsberg commute. Then up the top of a tiny lane a gas tanker (albeit a smaller one) had somehow squeezed it self in. I couldn't even get a bike by it. I was pretty peeved at first. Then I saw the queue of cars on the other side and remembered the design philosophy, we'd rather have roads that are narrower and control speeds naturally than design for the occasional largest visitor. This lane was doing it naturally and that why I choose to cycle there and the tanker is probably only there every 6 months. 👍

Typically after I was in the office the rain stopped; there was a few heavy showers during the day but on the whole it was mostly blue skies. When I left the office I was on the edge of the those blue skies and black skies so I rushed to the station and took the short route (11miles) whilst it was still dry. 10 mins from the Station it started to rain and I thought I was going to be drenched again but it never really came to much. At the other end the tarmac was pretty dry 👍

Another lovely bright, crisp morning; with a convincing ground frost.

Despite being well-prepared and uncharacteristically awake I left a little late; compounded further by having to wait for the frost and condensation on the car's windscreen to clear sufficiently.

A nice gentle drive into the sun with a noticeable absence of dickheads. A significant headwind encountered as soon as I was out of the car and onto the bike; along with a reasonable amount of frost still about but thankfully no significant ice that I could see.

Despite being late I couldn't help but snaffle a few photos as opportunities were myriad; mostly shot blind into the sun (as evidenced by the finger over the lens) if that's any excuse
