England : London Sunday London ride

Anyone out on New Year's Day?

Not me, but Jan 2nd has a good forecast and I will be keen to clock up 100k or so. Any takers?

A bunch of us (well 2 so far) will be heading up to Tiptree via the Dartford Crossing and back. Wilkins Jam Factory tea rooms are open on Monday, and it's about a 100 mile round trip from South-ish London. We plan to assemble at the Dartford Crossing south side at 7.30am.

Sorry to say but 0730 Dartford is asking too much at this time of the year. I know, I am beginning the year with a whimper.

Hello!

I know, I know, there wasn't a Sunday London Ride today. But there was a 2012 Parade starting on Piccadilly and as we are now well on our way to the Olympics 2012 I thought I should at least pop down and have a look. I took the Brompton because the upright is at the cleaners having done the muddiest of rides around Essex on Friday.

I started with a lap of Hyde Park, then ambled along Piccadilly and back to HPC. The rain hadn't started and people seemed in good spirits. I then did another lap of the Park, down Exhibition Road which has this new road design - raised tarmac, single lanes and with pedestrians having priority. I am not in a position to comment on it as it was practically empty today!

Off the bike today. Spent the morning cleaning the Bent after the very dirty ride yesterday.....

Also imo the LMNH hat (or cap at least) isn't very good. The elastic went on mine after about 3 months

And to throw my hat in the ring.. instead of LMNH and battling with the London traffic, how about Yeading? Nice little cafe there and only 28 miles from the DT. Just a thought...

no sunday rides for me for a couple of weeks - one is off to the Alps! Definitely need to get out when I get back though - 30 miles with Dad's lot on the 2nd nearly killed me!
