It was lovely to met you all. Had an (additional) shower, a snooze and a wide-opened mouthed viewing of Arsenal being destroyed after I got back. (BTW, as someone actually from the north-west I clearly hate Man U, before anyone thinks otherwise.)

Thanks for letting me tag along. I had much so much fun and really enjoyed the beautiful route and tea!

I can only see one photo on the link, is that just me? There's 3 thumbnails on the post I can see too.

Nope, Mice you've only given a link to share one picture, not share the album. Until it's edited you can reach it by clicking on the "busy bees photos" link on the right then Sunday London Ride album.

The tandemistas you met are Murray and Angela, who often ride with the Surrey and Sussex section of the Tandem Club.

Having got completely lost, Arallsopp - being the complete hero he is - came to find me, reunited me with the group and then promptly had to go home as something bad happened to his derailleur. Extremely unfair that. I felt very guilty. He was missed.

Well I should think so too!
I mean, there's me, innocently setting off on a 70 miler with a gear cable of unknown vintage, frayed to a single strand, with no spares and no pre-ride inspection...
And then you throw in a 200 yard detour before the off that sees it break within half a level mile from home.
Some people...

Great ride as always with great company. That route is probably my favourite ride. Great to meet Tim and Miss Tilly Flop.

My first time on the bike since Bogner and I am knackerd.

Thanks to everyone for yet another fantastic Sunday ride

What an idiot* I am! (It never ceases to amaze me...) I mean if Ianrauk says it's going to be a pootle it doesn't actually mean it's going to be slow or more particularly - flat. So I made the ridiculous decision to ride to Bromley (which turned out to be the other Bromley) and include Crystal Palace as a warm up on the way! In addition, thanks to rubbish navigation on my part I ended up climbing Bromley Hill and Beckenham Hill as well - all before I'd even reached that well known plumbers merchants to start the ride!!

Having got completely lost, Arallsopp - being the complete hero he is - came to find me, reunited me with the group and then promptly had to go home as something bad happened to his derailleur. Extremely unfair that. I felt very guilty. He was missed.

Eight of us, Martin235, DeckerTim, User10571, MissTillyFlop, Mista Preston, RB58, our leader Ianrauk and me headed out to the hills. It has to be said it was a stunning ride. The hills that we climbed took us to stunning views across valleys and beyond. Really, really pretty. Edit

Needless to say I took some pics and they may be here!

Having cycled to the start of the ride and done 70 miles to Whitstable yesterday it seemed perfectly sensible to cycle home. (I must be nuts!) However, I seem to have 76 miles on the clock for today. And I do love cycling :wahhey: Thank you Ianrauk, it was a lovely day. Even the sudden shower after tea couldnt dampen t
our spirits . Good to meet you Miss TillyFlop, hope you enjoyed it. The highlight of the day for me was tea chez Ianrauk and meeting both Mrs Ianrauk and of course Henry who is clearly a complete star.

*No TimH, please recall correctly that I did not fall for your joke about tyres needing fresh air every day...!

Edited to correct grammar. This could be a long edit. I seem to be a little sleepy!
Edited again to amend the photo link

Edited again to amend the photo link to include all the photos not just one - as noted by TimH (thank you TimH - nearly made up for that tyres-need-fresh-air-every-day joke!)

And none of them include Arallsopp and his fraying cable! (Thank you for your comment, I did really feel bad).

I didn't realise you were from the North West, whereabouts? I'm from Lancashire originally

Hindley Green in Wigan. Only lived there till I was eight, hence I don't realy have the accent any more (used to sounds like Jane Horrocks/Peter Kay)

Ah, a pie-eater.

Indeed. I do love a good meat pie and get annoyed by people who as "which meat?" - it's just "meat!"

And the 'Pies' did well at Wembley yesterday, 'MissTy' - despite a severe Leeds onslaught. Lovely that you have met all the ugly ones in one fell swoop today - it will come as a relief to ride along with the likes of Adrian and Simon (who is a Brixton Cycles person and knows them all!). Presumably you were briefed about the Friday Night Rides etc.

Actor! My nephew is in the same game - tough occupation. Are you appearing in anything at the moment?

Like Dave, we 'Billy No Mates' did our own self-inflicted Sunday Rides. I went out to Shere Green, Marlow and Cookham etc this afternoon and I presume Dave did an early morning Ally Pally as he was online early enough...topcat? Pictures?

Had a feeling you'd prolly know these two. There was also a very nice Roberts tandem parked up - didn't clock the crew though.
