Streaming Cycling in UK - Discovery+ prices!

I have Eurosport and Discovery+ as a consequence of my Sky account. I have not heard anything about any changes (other than here).

When I did my back last year and was literally laid up I watched a lot of cyclocross, road and XC MTB racing. Now I’m better I dip into it every now and then and will miss it when it’s gone, but I’m not paying £30+/month for it.

Same here. I have them through Sky and have not had any comms. I suspect what will happen is that on the appointed day the ES channels will disappear and D+ will still be accessible but will get downgraded to bog-standard so all you can get is is Paranormal Alaska Nazi Gold or whatever rubbish they have. But I'm just guessing.

What pub will pay for a TNT Sports commercial subscription and then show the cycling instead of the football? Even big famous cycling specialist venues like Look Mum No Hands in that London only showed the TdF off itv4 when I last visited.

I read somewhere that Sky will move you to the basic plan. Can’t find it at the moment though.

There will be a fair few people trying to go to Eurosport on their Sky boxes and getting a nasty surprise when the day comes.

I have my Discovery sub through my BT TV and broadband package. I got a message saying the channels were changing to TNT. The TV element is a lot cheaper than the £31 a month and includes the recording YouView box etc, I only pay for standard definition for the sport channels but if I cast from my iPad I get HD, result!

Showing different things? Is it a very busy pub? As a multi stream licence and receiver were much dearer, last I knew (years ago).

I too heard the news of the price hike earlier and as someone who has been paying to watch the Grand Tours on Eurosport / Discovery, will no longer be doing so. I have no interest in watching football or rugby or darts or US baseball or US basketball etc. Maybe it'll be time to get one of those dodgy fire sticks 🤔

Eurosport will still exist in other countries, but will no longer be included on any of the UK platforms (Sky/Virgin etc).

If this is the case, then maybe worth getting a VPN...

I just unsubscribed and filled in the box telling them exactly why!

I suggest that any of you unsubscribing because of this price hike do the same thing so they get a clear picture of what is going on.

I think they may of shot themselves in the foot here. I will be cancelling my subscription as will many others who just want the cycling, so if enough of us do, maybe they may reconsider in the months ahead. 🤔
