Which website?

Full coverage, or just very short highlights?

Eurosport have been putting brief summaries up.

Lanterne Rouge and Chris Horner do very good round-ups of each day of racing but it isn't the same as actually watching it. I prefer to watch a race/stage then see what they have to say.

I'd hazard a guess it's Tiz-Cycling. Shows the TNT stream with the Tiz logo over the top. Can be a little bit flaky, since it's apparently just one guy in Korea, and increased demand following the TNT Exodus probably won't help.

I'd definitely recomment the VPN/SBS route - thoroughly enjoyed their coverage of Strade & Paris-Nice, knowledgeable, good-natured commentary & 100% Carlton-free!

Ach, I like Carlton's witterings, sometimes they are even funny

And yes, correct about the website but never knew it was just one guy - impressive for the amount of material he pumps out

I have managed to perfect the VPN/FireStick/SBS combo, but I have to do it via the Firestick browser as it says the SBS app is not available in my area

You will need to have an Australian Google account in order to get the SBS app from the play store when signed in to your Australian Google account. It's relatively easy to set one up.
It worked for me but there is the extra hassle of signing in and out of different Google accounts each time you want to watch cycling, unless you can dedicate your firestick to that and use something else for other stuff using your normal Google account.
In the end, as the browser method gets me a better picture anyway, I tend not to use the SBS app.

Would it be utterly ridiculous to suggest two Firesticks? One for cycling, one for normal viewing.

It would be utterly sensible, I used two chromecasts my old external one and the one built into my new TV, but like I said the browser method works better for me anyway.
I'm not really familiar with Firesticks though.

That's what I had to do on my Chromecast Google TV dongle to download the SBS app. Oddly with the app installed & VPN pointed to Aus, it doesn't care which account I'm logged into to actually use it. That might just be a Chromecast peculiarity though.

I will get the chance to test my set up on Sunday morning as I plan to watch the catch up re-run of the last 50k of MSR on SBS

Errrr.....
Watched Strada Bianchi on SBS via vpn, but they no longer believe I'm in Oz. Tiz on UK vpn working fine for MSR.

was watching tiz cycling but its getting blocked somehow

Wish I had have seen your post earlier. Sometimes there's more than one option on Tiz - the first option as you drop down the page wasn't working but there was a "720" option that worked fine for me. Had Ned Boulting and Matt Stephens commentating so that was good too. Absolutely epic race
