I'm struggling with casting from Rai, France TV and VRT (Sporza) from my devices

Obv I have a VPN, but both Paris Nice on France3 and Tirreno on Rai couldn't be casted.

Sporza had the option, but it wasn't connecting to my Chrome Cast (which granted could be a hardware issue)

Any tips gratefully received

If you mean casting as in Chromecast, you have to have the VPN app installed on your 'Chromecast with Google TV' device (either built in to your TV or an external one).
If it's the older Chromecast with no app installation options it won't work.
It won't work if the VPN is on your phone. You'll be able to watch on your phone but not cast it to TV.
It might work if you can install a VPN on a WiFi router.

I phoned EE, already a customer, and they said it was 8 quid a month extra for Discovery plus and the 4 TNT sports channels. So far, so good. And I can watch a load of rubbish lunchtime footie and as much snooker as I need to fall asleep to.

I have researched and it looks like this is the issue. How easy is it to install the VPN onto the Chromecast and/or router? Reading on NordVPNs website it seems complicated.

Also, if I wanted to be in Italy one minute and Belgium the next, how easy is it to change location?

Firstly which model Chromecast do you have?
If it's 'Chromecast with Google TV' then it will work, there should be an app for your VPN in the Chromecast app store, depending on which VPN, all the major VPNs are there.
Install the app, sign in, and start using it, assuming you've already signed up for the VPN on your phone, tablet, computer or whatever you use.

I've added this to my Fire stick now, but how do you access content?

There's a browser installed on the stick, do you just search "VRT 1 live" for example?

I presume it's similar to Chromecast.
There will be an app store where you can download the app for your VPN on your firestick.
Then you can look for the app you want to use to access the content, such as SBS On Demand (Australian TV that shows cycling content).
Add the app to your firestick. Sign up with the service (might be easier on your phone etc).
Or yes there are browser apps that you can also use.
For example I find using a browser for SBS on Demand gives me a better picture with less buffering than using the app.

I watched both Paris/Nice and Tirreno on a website - no VPN's required either. They even had the usual Eurosport commentators on it too, Be interesting to see how it copes with a Grand Tour tho

Which website?

Full coverage, or just very short highlights?

Eurosport have been putting brief summaries up.

Lanterne Rouge and Chris Horner do very good round-ups of each day of racing but it isn't the same as actually watching it. I prefer to watch a race/stage then see what they have to say.
