I'm tempted to have a evening ride out tomorrow if anyone is up for it nothing too serious...... Thinking of starting on the tow path near the waterloo and following it right down to the marina then back up along either beechwood ave or along the path that runs along side the expressway if anyone wants to come along

Cool, I'm sure your bike will be fine on this run as it's fairly flat. Not sure on the time as yet as I've got a bit of a busy afternoon. ,

Weekend was OK made up with Liverpool yesterday

Hi nice to talk to you and thank you for your offer I need all the help I can, how long ago was the in Runcorn,I have never heard of the club, I would like if you could send me the Wednesday night pootle and I would like to get some routes soon thanks again
I left to go back to Saudi Arabia in '91 and I think it folded in about `94
Wednesday night run - Down Central Expressway (A533), under beautiful railway viasduct at Suttomn Weaver, Left at lights (Warrington A56) After Walton Hall Gardens bear Left (Chester Road). Follow signs - Liverpool A57/ Warrington Bank Quay Station. After the station left onto A57. At Penketh Lane Ends left onto A562 Widnes. Fiddlers Ferry Power Station will be to your left. At large roundabout, 2nd left down Fiddlers Ferry Road then follow Runcorn signs.
Alternative routes - Daresbury Expressway to the A56 or
Longer route - at Penketh Lane Ends stay on A57 until Rainhill Stoops and then left (on the bend) into Mill Lane, look out for Tower College on left the left into Hall Lane to Cronton, at the lights - straight on into Chapel Lane, bear left at the Four Topped Oak, straight on at the lights at Liverpool Road and then Left onto Ditton Road and the bridge.
Points of interest -
At Bridgefoot, Warrington, just before Mr Sniths nightclub, there was a large red GPO combined telephone kiosk and post box (if it is still there)
In Mill lane at at the bottom of Hall Lane, there are the remains if medieval coffin crosses - resting places for funeral processions on their way to Prescot Parish Church
Hall Lane/Cronton lane crossroads - Cronton stocks
Warning- top of Hall lane - very steep, nice fast descent but nasty RH bend at bottom of hill!

Delamere Forest - take A56 towards Frodsham, top of the hill Left into Fluin Lane, turn left at end. Follow signs to Norley. There is a nice switchback (down and up) turn right at top for Delamere. Nice picnic area at Hatchmere and also Carriers Inn. Return either same way or continue to Delamere station and then left on A556/A49/A533

Bit confused as to what type of cycling this club is targeting?

Hi Billy at the min the club is looking to get a comittee of riders together to form the type of club best suits halton riders, I myself would like to try and get a committee driffent types of riding skills ie Road biking, MTB, Touring etc. This would allow people to try different ways of riding in the one club. As it stands there isn't committee, are you local to Halton? What's club are you looking for?

Not very local no as i'm in warrington. Looking for road personally but wouldn't rule out the trans pennine trail with my mtb. Either type of cycling if your group were to do a loop from Halton then you would possibly capture more cyclists who could join the loop at their various points ie warrington widnes st helens etc.
