Also ..after we spoke yesterday I received an email from another group in Runcorn looking for sponsorship for a coast to coast in aid of cavendish school (great cause but i may struggle to offer financial assistance but i may offer mechanical assistance) I also think they may have been the road group you mentioned but ill ask a few questions there on FB as the jolyy boys

I used to be a club secretary - contact British Cycling or CTC and you can get the relevant information and the necessary club joining fee which includes insurance. Give them a call. We were BC & RTTC affiliated as we were a racing club.

Just a suggestion, there is an awful lot of work in getting a proper club up and running. I suggest that you take professional advice on the leg and insurance side of things. My own club Lincoln Wheelers is a LTD company.

I wish you luck with your venture, the more clubs the better.

I will be getting help, I know the way people are these days with the no win no fee, I would be looking to make this club a non profit club with all the money going back into the club and run by volunteers. I know you can make mebers have there own 3nd part insurance and can only ride with the club if they have a card to prove they have the insurance but I have looked into it abit and it's like £80 per a year which I think is abit much how do you go about with your insurance for your club

I wish there was a local club I could join but there is none around Runcorn/widnes only Warrington

i am a past president of the now defunct Runcorn Cycle Touring Club. I did have a lot of info on paper with me but lost it all in last year`s Bangkok flood - along with a lot of other stuff. I can help you out on routes we used to take and cafe stops but some cafes may have closed down now; I know the Mills (Eureka) is still open but other like Jan`s in Middlewich, Oasis in Wigan and the Sunspot on the way to Corwen I am not sure about. Hopefully that greasy spoon at Dunkirk is shut. Contact me if you need any routes.
You may wish to revive our Wednesday night pootle - Runcorn, Sutton Weaver, Warrington, Penketh, Widnes, Runcorn. Have a refreshment stop in the Fiddlers Ferry Inn in Penketh (medicinal purposes only!)

Any news or developments on the club?

Hi sabian there isn't much development on the club as I need a committee to get it going I think it will be late summer before there is anything official on the club runs, but as of getting a ride together it will be Tuesday the 1st ride. Although I am going for a run 2mo night and can ride up your way and meet you if your free, we can cycle around the Heath business park and back around to Weston point thats where you are isn't it?? If not I will follow your route anything just put a face to a name let me know
