I like the A319 - I built my first set of wheels with those, and they survived the cobbles in Belgium.
You could think about Exal LX17 (built Mrs Monkey's wheels with those, and they're a useful size if you want a sturdy rim that will take a slightly thinner tyre), or DRC - I ride the latters ST18 "Elegance" rim on my SCR2.0, and like them very much (too narrow for you though) they probably do a trekking type rim in their range.
On spoke length, I take the advice of the calculator - iirc, Roger Musson's tells you to round up, in general.
