When I was cycling LEJOG, I saw a road sign in Shropshire pointing to Great Ness. While I was out on a club training ride between Wantage and Newbury, I passed a sign for Halfway. I had been rather hoping it was a bit more than that.

Funny you mention that... rode through it a little while back

LOL I know that sign well - used to ride past it on a regular basis when I was living in Folkestone and going to Uni in Canterbury ;)

Oh, I rode from Wantage to Newbury once (I think it was Wantage anyway) - straight up the hill to the Ridgeway, and then what felt like downhill all the way into Newbury, lovely!

I always liked Fannybush Lane in Consett, Co. Durham and there's a place near me called Pisser Clough. Has anyone mentioned Rest and be Thankfull?

Well done. It's not an easy hill.

There also the Slaughters, upper and lower in the Cotswolds.

Not 10 miles from my town.

We have Dog Bark Lane, Quat Goose Lane, Bouncers lane and Kidnappers Lane in Cheltenham.
