Tempted to take my own advice and just block this and any further.

However...

As a motorist, I've been driving for nearly 40 years and can't remember the last time I was significantly inconvenienced by any cyclist. On the other hand, literally every single time I ride a bike, I'm inconvenienced by motorists.

I am a motorist. Motorists are NOT the victims here, and shouldn't be indulged in their victim-bully behaviours.

So you've not seen any cyclists jumping lights, riding on pavements etc? Really?
I'm also a motorist, been driving longer than cycling by far.

However, feel free to block my posts.

Thanks for clarifying that you're mostly a motorist. Good to know.

Aren't we all? I drive a lot more miles a year than cycle. Over my lifetime I've driven way more miles than cycled as I suspect have 99.9% of cyclists.

Just for clarity, this thread is about online hatred and any forum about this inevitably has those who go on about red light jumpers etc hence my comment about those cyclists who do this.
Of course way more people are killed by cars etc than bikes and I'm acutely aware of danger I am sometimes subjected to when I ride - which is over 100 miles per week on average. So much so I record my rides and report any dangerous driving, close passes etc and I encourage other cyclists to do the same.

However, some cyclists are irresponsible and it's not right to claim moral ground unless we all act and ride/drive sensibly.

I go through traffic lights every day, and literally every single day motorists jump the lights. I can only once recall somebody on a bicycle doing this in over 20 years of commuting that route.

There is nothing that can can solve this issue; either @Binky stereotypical anti-cyclist talking points dominate the debate, or they go unchallenged.

Once again I'd recommend Peter Walker's book 'Bike Nation' it covers all of the stereotype points of view for and against in a non confrontational and practical way without the usual dressing of small issues disguising the main overall picture.
