I almost mentioned Devo at the Rainbow as although one could hardly put them on a par with The Jam and Weller they put on a better show. And used the venue - after an extended instrumental bit the lead singer, who had slipped away, appeared in one of the moorish sets high up on one of the walls.Along with The Marquee, Hammersmith, the Rainbow was one of the great venues.
