The cat couldn't get out his catflap, so I cleared the back step. When he got off that he just sank straight into the snow.

I bet his expression was fantastic... A sort of cat equivalent of ;)

Here in Edinburgh I was due to cover an assignment outdoors for 3+ hours. I woke up this morning, saw the flurries outside and braced myself to freeze. As it was I got a call and was very pleased indeed that it was cancelled!

Looks very nice from indoors, though!

It's snowing a bit heavier here now. I'm off back to bed for a bit (a privilege of those who work nights), but it looks like it might be quite a lot deeper when I get up again.
Does anyone know what it's like oop north? I've got to take an artic to Rochdale via Burton on Trent tonight.

Snowing in Brum - 3-4 inches at the moment. Just waiting for the heavy stuff to hit this afternoon.

I decided not to try and go in for a 9am lecture, but I have physio at 11:30 on campus so I'll be dressing up for the trek by foot in about 45 mins.

 It doesn't matter if you have got a 4x4, not if there are two or three "normal" cars blocking the road in front of you.

Another good use for the recovery gear I carry in the car ;)

London voted the 'capital of the world'...
The main airport is shut until 17:00 at the earliest. There are no de-icers available, no clear runways, leading to a Cyprus airways plane landing on the grass, no trains, no buses and no idea.
I'm sure everyone is working hard to develop 'solutions' to this 'totally unexpected' weather - except the Meteorological Office, who are voicing how accurate they were with the predictions of bad weather.
Last week.
The helicopter trade will prosper though, as legions of television news speakers show acres of white lands whilst echoing the 'don't travel unless absolutely necessary' mantra...;)
