I purchased a pair of padded bib shorts from them via their web-site. Their pre-purchase service and delivery was excellent.......can't fault it.
However after 2 rides I realised the padding was not as comfortable as my Endura.........so I emailed Sigma in the vain hope they would do something (worth a try). After a month........no reply!!
I then got an email asking me to review the product.
I agreed and said that 1) I do have a 'sit bone/pain' problem 2) wearing my Endura shorts I can do 50-70 milers with no pain 3) I have done 2 rides in these **** shorts and after 30 miles I was in pain............if I could get my money back I would. I also said......I contacted Sigma after 2 rides but they failed to respond.
So today I got an email thanking me for the review BUT as it doesn't meet "their criteria" they wouldn't be publishing my review.
I do not normally buy from web-sites and on the odd occasion I have the service & product have all been good...............and my reviews were subsequently good.
Do these companies only publish reviews if they are good ???

Perhaps based on your language rather than because it was negative?

It will be because you talked about the service and not exclusively about the product. I have given up leaving reviews as the majority of the retailers will filter in some way. I even had Wiggle tell me that it was done by 'computer' and they did not have control over it when I complained once.

although most sites claim to publish all reviews +ve or -ve, that is clearly not the case with some websites.

No no.......the **** was to avoid naming the shorts.
They were pearl Izumi no? Why wouldn't you name them? People often post reviews...there's a section for it not least
I can't see how them not suiting you on a long ride is a reason for a refund? Any more than on a used saddle. Shorts and saddles aren't one size suits all ultimately

You could just sell them on here, some folks are happy to buy used kit

Used them once last (I can't actually remember what for) but I've no complaints and ordered from them again on Sunday, I wanted to try that new sky lube and they were cheapest.
As I say....their service was excellent.....no issue with that.

Vickster.....you missed my point. I said "it was worth a try". I also said the fit was excellent. As the heading said.....its not a complaint about the product......its Sigma's refusal to post a negative review.

I don't get your point either based on what you've said...they aren't faulty, you've admitted they don't work for you. Why thus should you get a refund? I doubt pearl Izumi offer a money back guarantee on used shorts, especially when they fit

Phone their customer services and ask why they haven't added your review, to clarify their criteria....if you know that, perhaps you can send them a revised review although I don't see how it would help others given you say you have a sit bone issue and there's nothing wrong with the product

Isnt it difficult to get a point across by text.
I didnt "expect" a refund......I said "it was worth a try". But they didnt even respond.
Again........the thread is about their refusal to post my review because it was negative

No. You said it was because it didn't meet their 'criteria', you are assuming it's because it's negative. What you have said gives no feedback on the product, as someone said above. Thus, it is not very useful to customers who may wish to buy the product
