Most of the bridleways round here are also clear and wide but I have done forest trails elsewhere which I found tricky even with the narrow bars.
I just did a search though and it appears that almost everybody these days uses wider bars.
I am going up to Scotland in a few days time and my cousin has 3 different MTBs which he said that I can borrow. I bet at least one of them (if not all of them) has wide bars. It will be interesting to see what I think.
I am also curious about dropper posts. They make a lot of sense to me but I haven't tried them either. I don't know if any of the bikes has one but if available I will try it out.
How about a 'Keep the smaller vehicle and buy a towbar and Thule towbar rack' fund?... as all funds have gone straight into the ‘Buy a vehicle big enough to lug a couple of bikes around’ fund
