I usually find a ‘native’ and ask nicely - never had a refusal.
Depends where you are. In a town like Oban not so easy as out in the countryside.

Another option is to acquire a radar key. :okay:
Not sure how to reply to that. The taps are not much good for filling a bottle. You need to carry a short bit of hose and I will not mention hygiene. So long as you do not impede disabled access which is their main function I have no problem with that but some people are not considerate and I have had whole families going in in turn and not allowing access.

Obviously an Aubergine
It should be noted that particularly at small slipways they are very often hidden from view and may take a little time to locate. I found this particularly in the Western Isles.

But if you ask a local they will usually tell you..:okay:

- if you're a bike tourer at least - probs not so much if a motor homer..

Did you know you can buy pump out cards, Canal & River Trust keys, handcuff keys and more at your local Trust office?

The canal boating is more 'adventurous' than I thought
Drift alert - Maybe that's where it's all at - I did once hear about a caravan/motor home swinging scene. Coming to a field/grass verge/layby/carpark near you soon?
am off to check that place out.

….look our for the ones with Pampas grass on them….
A cyclist once told me that - wanting to sound in the know/part of the scene - sounded like a myth to me - and if ever true must have been donkeys years ago, pre internet. And some folk must surely have had pampas grass for entirely innocent pampas reasons?

Scottish water have installed water refill points in a variety of places for public use. There is a map somewhere but don’t have it handy to post up.
Can't say I've ever come across any of these, whereabouts are they likely to be?

I most of the ones I can think of the nearest local was some distance away and in one case
[ Benbecula] appeared to be stoned on something and encouraged the dog to chase me along the road. There was also a flagpole with a union jack flag which is a clear sign they are probably not the nicest people and certainly not local.

Not sure how to add a link but if you google top up water Scotland or something similar you will find a map. It can be narrowed down to your postcode area if required.
Just tried that, very underwhelming. From my post code, one in Stirling five miles away , one in Falkirk about twenty miles away and one in Alloa five miles away. Quite thin on the ground, I'll just stick to carrying an extra bottle or two.

Where are you getting this from ? My friends in Spain aren't seeing any shortages ? If they aren't I suspect the rest of Europe aren't either.

Despite repeated assertions about "Europe wide shortages" I'm not seeing any real issues either. I'm not sure where people are getting this idea from.

There are minor shortages and supply issues in specific industries but even after the Germany-wide train drivers strike last week we are still not seeing a general problem.

Local supermarket was stocked as usual today; on my way to work I passed trucks delivering like normal.
