Advice from my dad, who was in the RE during WW2; always carry a pocket knife. At 69, still follow his sage advice. What amuses me is if I loan it to someone, it's invariably returned with the comment 'Cor, that's sharp - !'
Er, yes, it's a knife.

A friend, seeing me doing something with my particularly nice pocket knife, asked to see it. I closed it up and handed it over to him while warning him to be very careful with it as it was very sharp.

It wasn’t two minutes before he was bleeding like crazy... natural selection making a try I suppose.

And he ran our lab, handling hazardous stuff all friggin day.
