Then I discovered Johnny Marr and Tom Verlaine.

Must admit, I love Johnny Marr's playing. I'm not actually a fan of Satriani's music, well there's the odd track I really like but the general wanky style, no. However I still recognise he's a great guitarist, very talented guy, where as the disappearance of Coldplay would be no great loss to the world of music. No loss at all actually. In fact it would be better for it.

The Smiths on the other hand...

Here we go, yngwie malmsteen... another geek who has helped to destroy rock music as we know it.

Yes. I could play anything they could in 3 months - maybe that would be 3 months off work full time admittedly.

And that is the shamefaced workmanlike attitude these gorks foster.

Proof!!! Come on let's hear some stuff (you must have recorded it if you were THAT good!)

Yes, Steve Morse is still playing 30yrs down the line. He's currently guitarist for Deep Purple (and has been for about 15yrs or so).
arbitrary will probably say he used to play all that stuff and thinks Steve Morse is shite too! :?:

I did see the drummer Rod Morgenstein a couple of years ago with Winger at Notts rock city.
